Until a new law takes effect that would be giving companies much more say over any sort of disputes having to deal with water, mine projects in Peru shall surely continue to face delays.
The say is particularly going to be in how the resource is really going to be managed. This was said by Guido Bocchio, Legal Manager of Southern Copper Corporation.
The new law had been approved in March, but has still not yet been implemented due to the influence of which, farm groups are specifically seeking over regional water councils.
