Peruvian Prime Minister Yehude Simon said last Tuesday that he is planning to quit as the government tries to maintain calm amidst clashes between police forces and tribal groups.
He said that he is sure to go as soon as everything settles down to calm. The indigenous tribes formed blockades in the roads that lead to the Amazon in their protest against mining companies and encroachment of land.
